Access to Adequate Mental Health Facilities is a Problem in Mid-Missouri.

According to our research, some residents in Mid-Missouri counties have to drive upwards of 100+ miles one-way to get to their nearest mental health facility. A new MU grant is working on increasing the number of professionals working in these facilities by placing psychology graduate students in internships in these facilities, but the lack of care is still a problem. For my second team story for Convergence Reporting at the Missouri School of Journalism, my team and I looked into this issue and spoke with the director of the program through MU and also with a Jefferson City, Missouri resident who has personal experience with the lack of mental health care for Mid-Missourians.

For this story we produced an audio piece, text story , infographic (need a google account to open), photo gallery and a series of tweets for a social media campaign.
